- Julien has graduated from Ecole normale supérieure (Paris) and holds a PhD from Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS). He is a permanent researcher at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), associate member of the Paris School of Economics and is Deputy Director of the Institut des Politiques Publiques. Julien's research interest centers on market design and the economics of education. He has coordinated several research projects on school choice and student assignment mechanisms, with a particular focus on reforms that have been implemented to expand choice in public middle schools and high schools in France.
