Overly simplistic tax analyses?

In an opinion piece published on 27 February 2020 in *Les Echos*, Philippe Aghion, Gilbert Cette and Elie Cohen – three renowned economists from, respectively, the Collège de France, the University of Aix-Marseille and the CNRS respectively, launched a scathing critique of the analyses of the redistributive effects of socio-fiscal reforms published by Institut des politiques publiques (IPP) and the French Economic Observatory (OFCE). They accuse “biased experts” of engaging in “political manoeuvring” rather than conducting rigorous evaluation.
