Context

The France Relance Plan has made the decarbonisation of industry one of its key measures for reducing the carbon footprint of France’s manufacturing sector. This priority has been implemented through several rounds of investment support (calls for projects, grant schemes, etc.). Who is making use of this support? What can be said about it? And what impact is it having?

Presentation

This project documents and analyses the impact of decarbonisation grants across three areas. Firstly, it analyses the targeting and uptake of grants under the France Relance plan awarded in 2020, 2021 and 2022; and examines how the expected costs and benefits of these investments are affected by changes in energy prices. Secondly, it documents the effects of previous rounds of decarbonisation grants, in particular the Fonds Chaleur administered by Ademe. Finally, it provides a retrospective analysis of the economic impacts of the decarbonisation grants under the France Relance plan.
