Changing inequalities in Europe and North America: part two

This special issue is the second part of a two-part series examining trends in labour market inequalities and disposable income over recent decades in 17 high-income countries in Europe and North America. In this introduction, we provide further information on this cross-country comparative project, which is being carried out in parallel with the IFS’s wider study, the ‘Deaton Review of Inequalities’. We briefly summarise the main trends and findings from the articles on five Western European countries and four Southern European countries, as well as a supplementary article on the role of education and intergenerational mobility across all 17 countries.
