Decoupling the disability allowance for adults from spousal income: one year on from its introduction, is the debate still ongoing?

Just over a year ago, on 1 October 2023, a measure came into force which, behind the technical term ‘decoupling of the AAH’, was hailed by many as a major victory for people with disabilities in France.

With a year’s hindsight, we are now beginning to be able to draw the first statistical conclusions regarding the effects of this measure.
