Context

In 2018, disability pensions in France were paid to more than 800,000 people, totalling 7.6 billion euros. Looking at a single generation, 9 per cent of people are on disability benefits by the age of 61. Despite the scale of the scheme, there is little information available about its recipients: who are they? What are their employment histories? When did they become eligible for disability benefits?

Presentation

In partnership with the Directorate for Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics (Drees), the IPP is conducting a study on disability pensioners based on data from the 2016 EIR, which includes, amongst other things, information on more than 40,000 disability pensioners.
