A world-class research laboratory
The heads of the research units, who are responsible for the direct supervision of the IPP’s economists, are all recognised researchers in their respective fields, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and regularly presenting at international conferences.
Researchers at the IPP draw on the latest findings and methods in economic research to carry out their work.
The IPP encourages and supports its members in publishing their work in economic journals or in publications aimed at the general public.

As well as their day-to-day interactions with the permanent staff, IPP members have easy access to the various seminars and conferences organised each week at PSE or GENES.
A dynamic and pleasant working environment
As a small organisation (44 members), the IPP attaches great importance to fostering a friendly atmosphere, encouraging direct and informal exchanges between its members regardless of their length of service, and developing autonomy and a spirit of initiative in all its members.
Profile and required skills

What sort of candidate are we looking for?
The IPP primarily recruits candidates with a strong background in economics and a firm grasp of quantitative evaluation methods. Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R or Stata) is also required. As the IPP’s work is systematically published – for the client, the general public and the academic community – it is important to be able to demonstrate excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Should we speak French?
Yes, and English. Our studies are carried out on behalf of national and international organisations. On a day-to-day basis, the teams mainly work in French. However, it is possible to work on certain projects in English, depending on the project team’s preference.
Do you need a PhD to apply for the IPP?
Not necessarily. And the IPP can provide a supportive environment at the start of one’s career for those who are unsure about undertaking a PhD or who wish to consolidate their skills and develop their PhD proposal.
Does the IPP fund PhD theses in full or in part?

Does the IPP take on work experience students in the summer?
Yes. It depends mainly on the number of projects currently underway. The management team naturally takes holiday during the summer, but there is no particular time of year that is more suitable than another for undertaking an internship at the IPP. We prefer long-term internships (four months or more).
