Deaton Review Country Studies : A Trans-Atlantic Comparison of Inequalities in Incomes and Outcomes over Five Decades

Issues : Inequalities are at the forefront of today’s public and policy debates. It’s important to tackle this issue with a larger scope to understand inequality not just of income, but of health, wealth, political participation, and opportunity; and not just between rich and poor but by gender, ethnicity, geography, age and education

Presentation : This project is closely linked with the IFS Deaton Review, and aims at comparing inequalities between countries. On the one hand, cross country comparison will be made from micro-data from all participating countries. On the other hand, country studies will highlight particular features of inequality at the national level. Regular international workshops will be organized, and researchers will be able to share their progress.
