Educational Success Programmes (PRE) support children facing family, social or academic difficulties by organising multidisciplinary interventions for the children and their families. This is the largest non-housing programme within urban policy. To date, no comprehensive assessment of the programme’s impact on beneficiaries has been carried out at national level.
This project aims to describe the changes brought about by the PREs in children and families, based on systematic and standardised measures designed to document changes in the children’s circumstances in terms of quality of life and personal development, their relationship with school, and their family ties. The evaluation uses a control group of children not in the PRE programme, carefully selected to be representative, which makes it possible to determine the areas in which the development of children in the PRE programme differs most significantly, and at what rate.
The General Secretariat of the Interministerial Committee for Urban Affairs (SG-CIV) contributes to the funding of the evaluation as part of the annual work programme of the National Observatory for Vulnerable Urban Areas (ONZUS)
